Reunion Date, Place and Time

Hey everyone!!

After a bunch of debate, wonderful suggestions from family, and just wanting to get this done!!! We have reserved the 13 acre Lundstom Park in Logan on Saturday August 8th, for the 2009 Johannessen Family reunion. We have the park reserved from 9:00am to 4:00pm, which should give us ample time to enjoy lunch, the traditional family auction, and plenty of time to chit chat and compare notes about our family history. There is also swimming facilities near by and a nature hiking trail as well as plenty of lawn to throw a football, Frisbee or maybe a softball game.

We thought that because Logan played such a large part of the early Johannessen history, it would be nice to meet there this year. The park is in close proximity to the Logan Cemetery, and we are planning a field trip to the cemetery after the activities at the park, for those who would like to visit the Johannessen ancestors buried there.

We hope this change of venue will add a fresh perspective to the reunion. Because Sealander Park has become so popular with the locals, the past several reunions have had to limit the time we could use the facilities, as other groups have also been scheduled in the Park on those days. We want to give everyone plenty of time to enjoy the reunion, and the facilities. Logan is a beautiful city, with plenty of Hotels for those traveling, and is close enough for those living in Idaho and Utah, that we anticipate a wonderful turnout.

We have not confirmed the final plans for the traditional Friday night dinner. Any suggestions? Logan has a large selection of restaurants, buffets, etc, so finding just the right spot should not be a problem.
